Termite Inspections, WDI Reports & Treatment in the RGV

A termite inspection, a WDI report and a treatment plan serve different purposes. RGV BugBusters can discuss suspected activity or a requested property report, then explain the appropriate next step. The WDI report is listed at $115; termite treatment is quoted on site.

What to share before the inspection

Describe suspected mud tubes, damaged wood, discarded wings or other signs. Take a photo if practical and avoid disturbing the evidence. Provide previous inspection or treatment documents if available so the property history can be discussed.

An inspection evaluates visible and accessible areas. Concealed activity inside walls or other closed spaces may not be detectable. Ask about access needs and the inspection’s limitations rather than treating it as a guarantee about every part of the building.

When a WDI report is requested

A real-estate transaction may involve a requested wood-destroying insect report. Confirm the exact requirements with the requesting party and provide the address, deadline and access arrangements. The listed $115 WDI report does not include termite treatment.

If findings require attention, treatment scope and pricing are discussed separately. A pest report also does not replace an assessment of existing structural damage.

Treatment follows the findings

The recommended approach depends on the activity, location and construction of the property. Before work begins, review service areas, preparation, required access and follow-up recommendations. Treatment addresses pest activity; repairs to damaged wood or structures may require a separate qualified professional.

For new construction, ask about pre-pour termite treatment before concrete placement. It is a different service coordinated with the building schedule, listed at $0.15 per square foot with a $150 minimum.
